Deadline: 31 October 2010
Fundación César Egido Serrano is pleased to announce the 2nd Edition of the “Museo de la Palabra” International Flash Fiction Competition. One of the objectives of the Fundación is to add value to the capacity that words have to bring people together.
In keeping with this spirit, the Fundación has organised this competition using the name of its principal tool, the Museo de la Palabra. The Museum is a palace dating from the 18th century located on the first Don Quixote route.
Since the objectives of the Fundación are not strictly cultural, and due to its awareness that words have the function of uniting mankind, in this edition the languages in which the entries can be written have been extended to include Arabic and Hebrew, in addition to the Spanish language. The purpose is to include the languages used to express the three monotheistic religions existing in the world. Furthermore, the works can also be submitted in English, which is the most important communicative language used by people at the present time.
In this second edition, the number of participants is expected to exceed those of the first edition, in which the final number of participants was 3,682, from 44 countries.
