Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. The University also operates in its historic downtown facilities, offering cultural events, graduate classes, and continuing education. Job Description: The Department of Arab and Islamic Civilizations is inviting applications for an open-rank tenurable or tenure-track professorial position with a teaching experience in the primary sources at the university level. Successful applicant is expected to teach courses in all genres of Classical Arabic Literature; poetry and prose from the pre-Islamic through the modern periods. Courses will be conducted in both Arabic and English. Successful candidates will teach three courses per semester at the undergraduate, graduate and Core Curriculum levels.
Reuirements: PhD by September 2011 is required. The applicant is expected to have an MA and PhD in Classical Arabic Literature. Additional Information: Tenure track position.
