Lecturer in Journalism – Ref.: HU1010-015

Duties and responsibilities:
· Teaching and learning in Journalism at undergraduate and honours levels.
· Supervise research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
· Conduct research that leads to scientific outputs.
· Engage with the wider community in journalism projects.
· Perform diverse administrative duties for the department.

Inherent requirements:
· Master’s degree in Journalism / Communication Science
· Five (5) years of journalistic experience gained in print and/or electronic media.
· Teaching experience at tertiary level.
· Bilingual in Afrikaans and Engels.

Recommendation:
· Research-based Master’s degree

Assumption of duties:
1 January 2011
