The Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize is one of the largest awards in the arts. Now in its 16th year, the Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize pays tribute to trailblazers who have redefined their art and pushed the boundaries of excellence in their field. Previous recipients have shaped the cultural landscape in drama, music, dance, art, architecture, lighting design, film, and literature.
The Nomination Process
To nominate a candidate for the Gish Prize, you need only supply the nominee’s name, title and institutional affiliation (if applicable), and discipline of work. We also request that you include your name, title, institutional affiliation and discipline of work. Nominations may be submitted year-round, and will be considered at the selection committee’s annual meeting in March. The prize winner is announced in the fall of each year.
