Director of Africana Studies - Lehigh University
The College of Arts and Sciences and the Africana Studies Program invite applications for the position of Director of Africana Studies, to begin in Academic Year 2011-2012. Lehigh University is seeking a dynamic individual with a distinguished record of achievement in scholarship, teaching, and program administration to provide leadership for our interdisciplinary Africana Studies program.This is the first of several new hires as we seek to expand our program in the area of the Africana diaspora. Appointment will be made at a senior level. Area of scholarship is open though we are interested in building expertise in the following areas: history of Africa and/or the African Diaspora; literatures of the African Diaspora; expressive cultures of the African Diaspora (especially music, dance and/or the visual arts); religions of the African Diaspora, and gender and sexuality in the African Diaspora.
