Recognizing the Best Articles on Education in Africa
The Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) is convinced that encouraging communication on education is an effective means of supporting the development of quality education. Through an award recognizing the best articles on education published in the African press, ADEA seeks to promote quality communication on education and to foster interest and expertise among the media that cover education in Africa.
The award recognizes the best articles on education in Africa written by African journalists and published in the African press. To date, it has been awarded only to the written press.
The ADEA Secretariat administers the competition and implements its activities with its Working Group on Communication for Education and Development (WGCOMED), whose purpose is to promote the use of communication in support of education in Africa.
The competition has the following specific objectives:
* To encourage African journalists to write high-quality, accurate and relevant articles on education and to publish them in the African press;
