Funding: Ghana Studies Council 2010 Research Grant Program

Deadline: 1 October 2010

The Ghana Studies Council (GSC) invites applications for its Research Grant Program. The GSC will award two or more research grants of up to $500 each. Graduate students, faculty, and researchers affiliated with a university department or institute in Ghana are eligible.

Applications must consist of the following:

(1) completed application form;
(2) research proposal of approximately 500 words; and
(3) a letter of recommendation (for graduate students, this should be from your primary advisor).

All documents should be emailed to ghanastudiescouncil@gmail.com by 1 October 2010.

Applications will be reviewed by the GSC Research Grants Committee and decisions will be announced by early November. Recipients will be required to submit a research report which will be published in a future issue of the GSC newsletter.

The Ghana Studies Council is an international organization of scholars whose research interests focus on Ghana. The GSC promotes the study of Ghana as well as collaboration between Ghana specialists through activities such as its annual meeting, sponsored panels at the African Studies Association and other conferences, research grants, and its peer-reviewed multidisciplinary academic journal, Ghana Studies.
