I-Net Bridge, based in Johannesburg, is a leading supplier of multi-media financial and business content, solutions and connectivity. We supply information, covering real-time financial, economic & business news and prices, as well as making available historical information from the world's equity, forex, bond and commodity markets. Our newsroom is looking for a desk editor to work at its Johannesburg offices.
The candidate will form part of I-Net Bridge's team of real-time wire journalists. The candidate will be required to sub copy written by I-Net Bridge's team of reporters in accordance with real-time wire service style. The position also requires copy tasting and sourcing news stories from third parties as well as some writing from time to time.
You should have at least five years' experience in an editorial environment, preferably with experience in wire service journalism. You will be expected to have sound editing skills, some financial and economic background, a strong news sense and good writing skills. Knowledge of company reporting and the financial markets would be a strong advantage. You will be expected to work under pressure to constant deadlines and be a team player.
Starting date: September 1. Salary negotiable according to experience.
