Call for Contributions for the Book: Language, Creativity and Interaction in Home Videos
Language, Creativity and Interaction in Home Videos is the third volume of the project, Languages, Literatures and Cultures: A Compendium. It considers the home video medium as a site for the synthesis of events, ingenuity and ideologies, which are processed through designed interactions and voicing of players. It is, therefore, interested in papers that address the following or other related areas:
1. History of home videos
2. Facts and fiction in home videos
3. The art of home videos
4. Language and creativity in home videos
5. Sound symbolism in home videos
6. Language and identity construction in home videos
7. Costuming and symbolization in home videos
8. Language, culture and politics in home videos
9. Language, interaction and plot development in home videos
10. Setting and thematic projection in home videos
11. Translation in home videos
12. Entitling, sub-titling and focusing in home videos
13. Advertisements in home videos
14. Language, music and theme in home videos
15. Register and interaction in home videos
16. Humour and interaction in home videos
17. Voicing and accuracy of character projection in home videos
18. Language and emotion in home videos
19. Language and infelicities in home videos
20. Audience presence in home videos
21. Home videos, language and audience feedback
22. Semiotics and home video sites on the Internet.
Proposals (300-500 words long) for contributions should reach the editors between January 15 and February 15, 2011. Acceptance of proposals will be communicated to authors by March 1, 2011. Full papers, which must be written in English, which must be theory-driven, which should be between 6000 and 10000 words long and which must follow the APA reference style, are expected to be submitted by June 30, 2011.
