Job description
Highbury Safika Media (Pty) Ltd, an independent publishing house is looking for a full-time editor.
You will, among other things, have the following responsibilities:
• Manage several magazines
• Write features
• Draw up synopses
• Write commissions and briefs
• Build contacts
• Coordinate shoots in conjunction with design department and stylists
• Communicate with client and product providers
Personal Skills/Attributes
• At least three years experience in the media industry as an editor
• Dedicated team player Keen interest in and knowledge of travel, wine, fine dining and overall lifestyle subjects
• Good copy editing skills
• Extremely good time management and communication skills
• Ability to generate ideas and conceptualise content for lifestyle magazines
• Ability to manage and brief co-workers and freelancers
• Proven track record and contacts in the above mentioned industries - portfolio must be available to view
• Must be fluent in English Ability to work with a client and adherence to their needs and requirements
• Hard working and reliable
