The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Editing news articles in Afrikaans
- Writing headlines of news articles
- Typographic lay-out of pages on computer (training will be provided if necessary)
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Good language aptitude and excellent proficiency in Afrikaans.
- Good user knowledge of English.
- Lively interest in current affairs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willing to do night duty and work over week-ends.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- A tertiary qualification, preferably in journalism or languages, will be a strong recommendation.
- Thorough sub experience at an Afrikaans newspaper or magazine.
