WEB EDITOR
AU/IBAR seeks to fill the position of a website editor who will manage its content, including the conceptualizing and editing of new content and products and the review and improvement of existing site areas.

This position is subject to availability of funds.
2. Major duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
* Copywriting and publicizing AU-IBAR’s priority issues and major events on au-ibar.org, the primary external communications tool of the organization, using multimedia and dynamic content;
* Promote participation in and use of web activities, take into account user feedback and technical development and the needs of AU-IBAR;
* Create new content for AU-IBAR Web site and organizing content into appropriate navigation schemes;
* Edit AU-IBAR articles and reports and ensure continuous renewal of the site;
* Propose to the Director new applications and solutions for web content analyzing the requirements of content providers and website users;
* Work closely with the IT Service to facilitate implementation;
* Ensure consistency across the organization (layout, design, content);
* Analyse website usage statistics and draft monthly reports and recommendations;
* Initiate and sustain professional relationships with key constituencies within and outside AU-IBAR to promote au-ibar.org;
* Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Educational qualifications:
A university degree in IT, Web editing or other related field of work, or a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience.
4. Work experience:
* Minimum of two years of professional experience in generating web content and website editing. Experience in an international work environment is desirable. Web experience is an asset;
* Experience with HTML visual and text editors, XHTML, CSS, 508 Accessibility, Web Standards, FTP/SFTP, and CMS- or database-driven sites.
5. Other relevant skills:
* Self-starter with the ability to strategically plan own work;
* Good networker with the ability to maintain a positive and fruitful dialogue and relationship with the main institutions operating on the Continent;
* Excellent communication skills.
6. Language requirement:
Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages is a requirement. Knowledge of one or more of the other AU working languages would be an added advantage.
7. Age requirement:
Must be preferably between the age of 25 and 40 years.
8. Tenure of Appointment:
The initial appointment will be for 11 months including a 3 months probation period. Contract extension will be subject to performance and availability of funds.
