Editor: Privé and Medi-Clinic Family
We are looking for an experienced editor for two quarterly lifestyle magazines in our exciting stable of magazines and related content marketing products. The portfolio includes Privé magazine, the glamorous entertainment quarterly for Sun International, and Medi-Clinic Family, the healthstyle quarterly for this leading hospital group.
This Cape Town appointment will appeal to senior editors with strong editorial skills and a very creative mindset. Candidates must be able to multitask, work across multi-platforms and inspire a dynamic team to excellence. Skills or experience in video or television would be an advantage.
This full-time / freelance position is available from March 2011.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for editing a magazine that is on time, creative, with excellent copy and adhering to the demands and marketing objectives of the client
- Driving the production process from concept stage to final page proofs
- Content development of the magazine brands and other related platforms
- Driving design excellence with the art director
- Staying on top of trends, client service and client knowledge
- Optimum use of the team's abilities

- Good process management skills
Minimum qualifications and experience include:
- A journalism degree / diploma or similar
- At least five years’ experience in a content environment (preferably magazines)
- An unendorsed drivers license
- Ability to travel
