Enjoying its 19th year of publication, Wine is no longer just a magazine. It has evolved into a multimedia information source for wine and food lovers. It captivates a diverse audience, speaking to those with the love of the world around wine, curious to know more, keen to understand all aspects, and eager to experience every facet that this has to offer. The world of wine pervades every aspect of our way of life.
We're looking for an enthusiastic junior writer to join the editorial team on a fixed term contract basis - in return, you'll have the chance to gain invaluable work experience across a wide variety of editorial activities and processes, including:
Your key responsibilities will be as follows:
• Generating content for the news pages ("Word on the Street, Dates to Diarise, Off the Shelf, News Bites") - in conjunction with the rest of the editorial department
• Generating content for news snippets on the website
• Generating content for weekly webletters
• Carrying out research on required topics
• Researching and sourcing wines for editorial content
• Assisting with general editorial duties as required
• Attending industry events (sometimes afterhours) in an editorial representative capacity
To be considered for this role, you'll need to have:
• A relevant qualification (English / journalism majors)
• Proven writing skills (and the portfolio of work to prove it)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
• An interest in wine
• A great work ethic
• A willingness work unusual hours and to travel as required
