IT News Africa is looking for a Online writer, to write about gadgets, video games and related news.
Online writer responsibilities include reporting and writing daily, short news analysis items, blog posts and how-to content. The writer will work closely with IT News Africa editors and stay up-to-date with current news and developments in the industry, and is responsible for bringing viable story ideas to the table. Candidates must also be available to travel for stories and to attend and participate in industry events and conferences when necessary.
Requirements
Candidates should have at least 6-12 months experience as an online reporter for a news, business or consumer technology, or gaming website and should be able to show a portfolio of clips and blog posts. The candidate will have experience reporting on technology, gaming news and trends analysis.
Ability to independently develop story ideas is essential.
Advantageous
Experience working with content management systems and electronic publishing tools is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in English or Journalism and a basic understanding of web terminology are preferred, but not required. Candidates should also have some working knowledge of HTML and photo editing software.
