A Vacancy exists at a community newspaper for a Junior Journalist.
Responsibilities:
You will undertake an array of editorial tasks and news reporting responsibilities for our
publications. These editorial tasks include interviewing, writing, editing, copy-editing,
proof reading i.e. articles and press releases.
- Being involved in the reporting of daily news
- Writing for a Community-oriented newspaper publication
- Arranging and conducting interviews, as well as attending media functions and press-related
- events
- Developing creative editorial news and story ideas for the newspaper
- Degree in Journalism or Related Disciplines
- Driver's licence
- Required language(s): English
- At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the newspaper or news broadcast industry.
- Proficiency in English is a must, and be computer and internet literate
- Able to work within a deadline driven environment
- Good research, interviwing, reporting, and writing skills
- You must be a self-starter with a strong passion for a long-term career in editorial and /or journalism field
