Football Editor West Africa
Contract skilled level position in the Media sector at International Concern in Lagos West Africa in Nigeria.
Experienced Football Editor required on a fixed-term basis. This will be a performance based contract and the incumbent will report to the Africa football Manager. This position will be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Please note that this position requires working shifts, including weekends
CONTEXT

• Football federations & clubs in West Africa
• Media organizations and football media individuals in West Africa
OUTPUTS
• Grow Company’s online market share in West Africa
• Create and manage comprehensive West African football content
• Create and manage unique content relating to West African football players in Europe & other International countries
• Ensure that the spelling and grammar of the stories are of the highest quality
• Ensure that the football website is kept up-to-date with latest news, results, logs & fixtures of West African countries
• Ensure that the configuration accurately reflects the current climate both locally and internationally
• Ensure that the West African partner websites receive the highest standard of attention and The Company gets the maximum benefit of the relationship
• Monitor that all relevant football information is accurately reflected
Competencies:
• Excellent English language skills, particularly within the football/sporting environment
• An in-depth understanding of the football environment in West Africa
• A passion for and knowledge of football that allows you to work within its many disciplines
• The ability to work quickly and accurately
• The ability to work under pressure and reach set deadlines
• Excellent people relationships with local media and football associations in West Africa
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation will be an advantage
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric or West African equivalent
• Journalism qualification is essential
• Good Microsoft Office computer literacy skill are essential
• Excellent knowledge of the Internet is essential
• At least five years work experience (sports on the internet) is a distinct advantage
• HTML skills will be an advantage
