YOU magazine has a vacancy for an experienced senior journalist with a focus on investigative journalism at its office in Sandton. We want a newshounds with extensive general knowledge, strong writing and editing skills and a keen eye for identifying compelling content.
The ideal candidate MUST:
-Be a journalist with competitive drive and sound news judgment who does not settle for second best and can write on any subject matter
-Have at least five years' reporting/writing experience on a mainstream newspaper or magazine
-Have a lively interest in people and their lifestyles, as well as topical issues
-Be able to write lively, creative and factually correct copy
-Be able to generate ideas for magazine articles
-Communicate easily with people at all levels
-Be able to work under deadline pressure, sometimes for long hours and out of town
-Have a valid driver's license and be able to speak and write fluently in English
-Be able to represent the magazine at all levels
